Hi
I have a Golf4 1.9TDi with an AHF Engine. My odometer is currently standing on 542000Km.I am still driving 150km per day to and from work.
My problem is,sometimes when I want to accelerate fast,it will go but then suddenly it holds back, like if there is a lack of boost.I also used to drive up Sir Lowrys Pass in fifth gear at a speed of 120km/h.Now I can manage only 80km/h,and that is in fourth gear. Its like the engine has just loss its power.
I did replace some of my vacuum pipes but the one going to the turbo has not been replaced.
Can someone assist me in this matter?
Regards
Allistair

Howsit bud, sounds like you may have a boost leak potentially. Do you get a engine light? Also where are you based.

Boost leak can be anywhere on the turbo to intake.
Vacuum pipes, boost pipes, intercooler leaking or split on a seam, etc.

What boost leak means in English is that the pressurised air from the turbo is not getting to the cylinders to make power.
Another question, does the car take long to start, especially in cold weather? Is there smoke present specifically white or grey smoke? If so at what times is it most visible?

Could be a boost leak on a boost pipe, could be a vacuum pipe leaking somewhere, could be a few things
