Helicoil

Hi Guys.

My Cylinder head bolt hole threads that holds the plate for injectors are damaged. Can helicoil threads repair works.

Your advice will be appreciated.Image

Yes it will have to be embedded more inside or maybe get someone to weld on that piece(aluminium) and insert coil.

Or put a timesert/ threaded insert. That will work just make sure the insert is deep enough.

Those bolts are torqued down with massive amounts of torque, so a helicoil will strip very easily, so don't even go that route.

First stage torque - 3Nm
Second stage - 90 degrees
Third stage - 180 degrees

A Timesert thread repair will work, read about it being done on a few motors and no issues.
