Directions(Di "rock" tions)

The Rock Raceway,
18 Main Reef Road, Brakpan.
Johannesburg

Getting to The Rock is pretty easy no matter where you are coming from! Yes it's in "The Pan" but it's only a 35min hop from Sandton. (Unless Tim "V12" Stephens is driving in which case its only 10mins!)

You need to get onto the N3 if you are coming from the north or south. When you happen upon GILLOOLY'S interchange, you want to follow the signs for the N12 WITBANK. This is the same junction as if you were headed to the airport.

From PRETORIA, it is quicker to take the R24, cut through BENONI and then hang LEFT onto SNAKE ROAD.

If you live in the East Rand, get yourself onto the N12.

Once you are on the N12, you head straight till you get to "SNAKE ROAD".

When you are on SNAKE ROAD (turn RIGHT when you come off the highway), you will be looking out for MAIN REEF ROAD. At the fifth set of traffic lights hang a LEFT onto MAIN REEF ROAD move over to right hand lane travel straight for +- 3km.

You will go under a bridge and then you want to look out for The Rock on the left.
Easy!

Correct 200m of pure torque. Would be intersting to see what some of these higly modified cars can whip out in such a short stretch. I know the TDNi's are all excited

Sounds great, but eish.... 1/8mile, that's TDi turf - the rest of us will battle to keep up with them !
What time is it starting?

Not that it changes the fact that I'll be attending for sure, but which charity will the club be supporting? Methinks "The less fortunate kids" need a ride down the strip or round the gymkhana course if it's logistically possible. (I know the added weight of a passenger will bother most. But some non-timed runs 3 passengers to a car would put a smile on some faces for sure.)

*Edit to add* I'm not sure what kind of indemnity (written or otherwise) would be required to do this. The more I think about it though, it seems a good way to make the day more memorable.

This has already been arranged...cant remember the exact name of the charity, but I'm sure a comm member will answer in due course

Yup, the kids will be fetched at the children home with comm member's (and members, depending on the amount of kids we having) cars, taken around the gymkana and 1/8 mile track. We gonna make a fuss about them, thats for sure! Same as we do every year at the Jamborees :hi:

Killer, it'll be my first Jambo so I wasn't sure how big a fuss would be made. Put my name down to fetch some of the kids if there aren't enough comm members going through.
