It just never stops...

Ok so I mentioned that the car Idles at about 2k rpm when cold, but it seems that its not just when cold, when ever I start the car it pushes the rpm to about 2k, then after a bit starts dropping to a little over 1k rpm.

 Could this be the warm up valve screwing around?
 What else could it be?
 Will someone please sponsor me to go efi?

Auxilary air valve. Dude if you think EFI is a magic bullet you are in for a very rude awakening.

Is there anyway o test the Auxiliary air valve?

Nah the EFI was a joke because I constantly get told how crap k-jet is and that I should convert to mp9 or some aftermarket setup...

BTW, are you still working at KAR, and if so are you guys open the 29th and 30th of April?

yes - you pinch the pipe with a pair of pliers and if the RPM drops you know the aux air valve is letting the air through.
Sorry I have never worked for KAR and no I don't know if they will be open - why not call them yourself 082 778 6425

Ok so number 19 is the Aux air valve, but the line doesn't go anywhere, so I fingered its the thing that the number 16 (screw) goes into...

So i checked the pipes and i could only clamp B.

 A is a hard plastic
 B is a rubber/plastic pipe
 C Is a hard plastic T-piece
 D is a metal pipe

So I clamped B and it made no difference. Should I check the pipes for damage and make sure that they ft airtight into each other?

Pipe D ended up being plastic but I think its been backed hard...

Removed the pipe, started the car, idele was verry low and the car wanted to die, plged the hole on the valve with my finger, that made no difference, pluged the hole on the pipe (pipe comes from the intake manifold) and the cars idle sounded pefect, I couldnt check on the rev counter, but it sounded to be around 1000rpm. I then reconnectred the pipe and the idle shot up again.

So basically if I disconnect the pipe and block the pipe of the car idles normally.

Stupid question, but is the Auxiliary Air Valve and the Idle Valve the same thing?

Uhm - it depends on which car you are talking about. Idle valve normally occurs on 16v and not on 8v.

On my 8v. Reason I'm asking is I phone Goldwagen PTA West, and asked if they had any (I had to try...) and the guy on the other end called it an idle valve after I called it an aux air valve. So I wasn't sure if it's the same thing.
