I am trying to establish if there is actually a difference. A member of the Subaru club recons that BP is the way to go.
Your comments... What works well with turbo cars.

Cheers

Petrol is different yes, engines work differently at coastal level and at our level, so you need better fuel at the coast to prevent detonationHotdubz wrote:when i was in durbs me car ran best with BP, up in jozi me car runs best with Sasol (Power and Fuel consumption).
But i've also noticed that petrol smells different here in jozi compared to durbs. is it just my imagination or is the petrol different?

Tried BP ultimate sometime ago got like 50 kms less on a tank...so much for going further.![]()
remember petrol is all the same as they all flow through same distribution pipe but the additives is what sets them apart really.
For the price of DF it is not worth it.Sp00nman wrote:BP 95 + DF 20 FTW~!!!

Yes we did....
The best by far is BP 95
And if you want propper fuel, do the following
take 40 liters of BP95 unleaded fuel.
Mix 2.5 Liter Xylene and 2.5 Liter Taleune in the petrol to give you close to 99 Octane fuel
If you have a "BIT" of a problem with flames comming out of the exhaust, you can mix 400 ml MOTUL two stroke oil in the mix

hey GtiDog, where do you get your Toluene and Xylene from? Do you order them directly from the chemical wholesalers like Merck or Aldrich (although i do know that they sell in bulk) or is there another supplier that sells the goods? Also, what grade ie. which percentage purity is good for this application?GtiDog wrote:Hi There
