Good day people
I have a mk1 2 door, which currently has a 2l 8v that's come out of a mk3. It's running on a Weber 36 DCD.
I'm exploring the idea of converting to a 1.8t 20v (preferably BAM). What I'd like to know is does anyone have some sort of guideline on how to do this conversion.
1.) Do i need special engine mounts?
2.) What gearbox would be compatible with this engine?
3.) What are some other important considerations that need to be accounted for?
Any advice would be highly appreciated, thanks

U do need special mounts. I'm sure Delarey racing developments (DRD) has them of off the shelf.
5 speed cable shift gearbox would be nice. Many options to choose from.
Research the engines before buying. Can't remember off hand, some of them have a bigger wrist pin than the others. Agu has a better head imo. Plenty info on 1.8T builds

When a car tailgates me, i slow down - then floor it and give them a cloud of diesel smoke to choke on
