Actual Fuel Figures on 6C GTi vs 8P S3

Post by Jet Li »

On an average 150km daily trips to work and back with less traffic
Polo gave us complete 5 days trips which is very impressive to get above 700km from a 45l tank.

This week we achieved 850km on the same trip from a 60l tank S3 and never thought it was possible,
so managed to travel to work on the sixth day and only have to refuel on the way back.

Thought its worth sharing considering the cost of fuel this days. Thanx

They can give remarkably good fuel consumption.

My neighbour has an 8P S3, completely stock except for Revo Stage 1 software and I drove with him to CT once. We filled up at the garage two blocks away from my place and only had to stop to refuel in Beaufort West. If I remember, it was 980km, and the reserve warning came on just before BW.
We did have a full 25 litre jerry can in the boot though, just in case.
He wanted to see how far he could go on a tank.
Cruise control was set at 110 for most of the trip.

Very impressive indeed. High cost of fuel has literally forced me to practice economical driving. For years I could only get 550km on a tank. Lesson learnt :driving:

I have a TT 8n 1.8T. When you cruise it sips fuel. I havent taken it on a long trip of sorts, but 2 weeks ago I went to betties bay and back from crawford and avg 9.2l/100km

I owned a 2019 vw polo 2.0 gti dsg and I live in a township, on a 40L full tank I get 450 km max. My township is full of speed humps and stop junctions and I think higher consumption is due to stop/start driving or maybe it's too high?

Slow stop start driving will result in poor consumption.
