Good Day Everyone
Really hope I can get some answers here regarding my nightmare of a vehicle!!!!
Firstly my polo doesn't want to start, the motor is turning, diesel pump is working so not really sure why the car doesn't want to start. I am assuming there is an electrical problem but also not sure how to look for that. The other day I changed one of the new relays with one off the old ones I took out and the vehicle started, switched it off and on a couple of times and then let it idle as it has been standing since last year September 2019 also after switching on and off a couple of times it also eventually didn't want to switch off with the key ? Switched off for about 25minutes and tried to start it again but it wouldn't start and ended up running the battery flat. What bothered me was I felt the relay I switched out and it was really hot, I am not sure if that is suppose to happened. I did some research and I found a topic called dieseling , they say if you start the car and unplug the wires and the car dies its and electrical issue and if it doesn't then something is still causing the diesel to burn which will result in the car not switching off now I don't think that is my issue as my car doesn't want to start. I had to be tow started about 3 times as the car didn't want to start and I thought it was maybe just air in the system, but I realized that wasn't the issue. I also replaced my oil sensor as the warning light came on to say no oil pressure or low oil pressure not to sure but I know there is a oil pressure in there, someone said that could be the issue cause there is no pressure in the motor, but I asked a mechanic friend of mine and he said no that won't be the problem.
well I won't know for sure anyways as I am not a mechanic and don't know much off diesel motors.
Another issue I have, well had !!! I replaced the turbo but from the get go there car would all of a sudden just stop boosting, now I didn't buy the 1.4 tdi to race with, I bought it cause fuel sufficiency was better the a petrol vehicle. But anyone who rides a polo 1.4 tdi knows that when that turbo isn't working, you going nowhere slowly, top speed you can get is 80km/h which is great on fuel saving but climbing a hill even a small one when the turbo is not boosting, you lucky if you hit 50km/h. If I am really in a hurry I will pull off and switch off and start the vehicle again then the turbo will be fine for a while. If I go to fifth gear and stay on 3000 rev's for a couple of minutes the turbo cuts out again.
please guys if you struggled with the same issues and know how to sort it out or have some ideas I can try to solve these problems, please help me!!
