Polo classic OEM MP9 computerbox upgrades

Hi there guys

For u guys in the know of software and flashes please clarify for me

So a buddy wants to know the following:

1 ) He bought a polo 1.6 with a 2l long block motor in . and as i recall the previous owner told me they flashed the std 1.6 cpu with a map of a 2L.


2) What else can be done to the CPU to upgrade its software or program to make the car faster or to play around with maps and so on?

3) Is a aftermarket cpu a beter choice.

4) if u upgrade hardware like branches cams etc must the CPU software be flashed acordingly?

In short the Stock Management is MP9 so would have one of the few available maps flashed to the box for the 2.0 eg Bin laden Map or Polocup map.

Not easily tuneable ie cant play around with the maps....

Next step would standalone/ aftermarket management

what is the procedure when playing around with the hardware

branches cams etc

would a different mapp be had or is it down to tuning the timing etc

If you are planning lots of harware changes then go aftermarket. Not simple to adjust the mp9. Very few people ever bothered and the one guy that did had stopped long time ago. You basically have to write a eprom to do the changes.
