Hi, I have a problem on a 1.4i Golf 1. Does not start first time but only the second time if switched off on and off quickly. if the delay is too long, it doesn't start. I repleced the coil, (three pin all in one cdi) but has not cured the problem. Has anyone had this problem, if so what was the cure? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Fuel rail not leaking internally? Try switching the ignition on for a few seconds then off and back on again and try starting it like that

Not fuel related, first start attempt, no spark, second attempt spark. If second attempt is delayed, no spark. New ignition switch and coil, still the same problem. I will replace the dizzy and see
