distributor only giving #1 cylinder spark

Post by Neo.c »

really need some help guys .

so over the weekend I did a conversion from a 1800 8v carb to a 2l 8v (agg) motor and took off the mp9 intake and replaced it with side draughts . everything wwas going along smoothly until I tried starting the car . the car wouldn't start so I tried kick starting it and it only gets spark to cylinder #1 and the motor idles on 1 cylinder . tried replacing leads ,spark plugs and distributor cap and the other 3 cylinders still wouldn't get any spark .

is there anyone that can help with this issue ?

If the AGG is like th ADY, then it has a single window dizzy, you need to swop the window (4 window), or use a 2E distributor (There might be other methods)

So now you are running a motor on old technology fueling and static timing or how do you plan to advance the timing?
Once you have put a 4 wheel trigger in it.
what model year and what car is this in?

Have you driven it hard yet ? Are there any other mods ? Is there much performance noticeable ? Also, how is the fuel consumption ?

In the process of going FI, but this got my attention, for now.

it pulls great with the new facet pump on , bought it yesterday and fitted same time , immediately felt the difference , I asked a buddy of mine if I could test my car up against his b20 and I gave him beating . I have no other mods yet and it eats the petrol

Cool man, sounds good. Consumption is a major factor for me, unless it's not a daily. Thanks for the info.
