Hi guys.

What would the upgrade cost be from stage 1 to stage 2?

I would like to get stage 1 done right away and when I'm ready again add a DP and change to stage 2.

Ya but then I need to do DP and I don't have the cash to do it now.

At least with stage 1 I can have some new found love in my car until I can get the DP.

Yoh ninja edit? I'm quite sure I saw R500 first lol.

Even if it's R700, that would be a better route for me right now.

Oh, if I do DP while I have stage 1 then I don't need a cat fooler, correct?

Year end special will be awesome. Only a month or 2 away so I'll also wait for that.

The dude from powerflow in Randburg said most of the time they add a cat fooler to dp they do. No need to adjust the software immediatly.

You would need a cat fooler or Stage 2 Software...

Or just stick to stage 1... I've driven in both, and I actually prefer stage 1 on our cars with the long ratios, feels more punchy low in the range.

Serious? Please dumb it down for me

I thought stage 2 adds more midrange punch

Felt the same in my Mk6 GTI to me. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but stage 1 from pull away felt more "punchy" for lack of a better word, whereas after 4000 rpm stage 2 had more flow so took advantage and the car was definitely faster on top end.

I also hate the sound of a 2.0T with just a cat-less downpipe into the stock exhaust, so that's my motivation.

Eish that's a tough choice. Daily driving I can count the number of times I go over 4000rm. On the other I do love top end.

Our cars have long ratios dude. Daily driving there's hardly any need to go over 3000rpm. There's plenty of pull low down.

My daily driving shifts are around 2200-2500 rpm.

i drive an auto (DSG) it changes gear around the same... why take stage 1 when stage 2 gives you more to offer?

Go do a search on Mk6 owners forum, it's a feeling shared by many others so I'm not alone in thinking it...

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying no to stage 2. I love the idea of it but Ryan has a point too. I spend 90% of my time in traffic. 50% of that is with my son in the car. I don't do any drag events or illegals. So, based on that my head tells me that stage 1 will be sufficient. But, being a petrol head I would love to own a 2.0t stage 2

And by leaving your catalytic converter in place you'll be doing your bit for the environment.

Think of the kids guys, the children are our future...

Maybe I'll do stage 1 and then jump to k04 when I get the chance. All I'll need is turbo, cooler, DP and tune.
