Management question

Post by DJLSchoemm »

Hi all,

I have a 2005 Citi velocity running mp9.
Ok what I would like to no.
I am going after market management due to a 2.0l conversion. MP9 was mapped for the 2.0l but I want to fit a cam so want more flexible tuning.

Now I want to leave the engine wiring as it is and just use the wires at the plug that plug into the ECU so it still looks standard.
So I want to trace the water temp sensor and the TPS and everything from there and solder the new ECU wires to the cars wiring.

Will this work??
I have a pin out diagram for the MP9 and I have the MRTurbo wiring diagram.
Where does the rev counter get it’s signal from?
Do I have to change the 3 pin coil for a older round coil as the MrTurbo has a TP100?

Rev counter wire is pin9 green wire.
3 pin coil has a built in tp100. So ignition signal wire from your management goes to the one pin on the 3 pin plug.

I've done this with Dicktator, kept the existing MP9 harness and everything worked as it should so it can definately be done.

Thanks Stephan.
So I can basically bypass the wires that goes to the MrTurbo TP100.

The wiring for there tp100 looks like this – it’s a 7 pin plug.
1 – coil –
2 – Earth
3 – pick up earth
4 – 12v ignition
5- pick up +
6 – pick up signal
7 – rev counter

Then they have 3 wires going to the dizzy.
1 +
2 signal
3 –

And 2 wires going to the coil
1 to + on coil and you also take an ignition 12v to the same wire
2 to – on coil

No, I fired the MP9 coil directly from the signal output on the Dicktator.

i will try to get this sorted out.
The 3 pin coil should have an positive, signal and negative.
So if I have this correct I can use pick up positive, pick up signal and pick up negative and leave the rest.

Thanks.
It's not that hard.
The dizzy sends a signal to the management and then the management sends the signal to the tp100 and the tp100 fires the coil.
Dictator shows more then mrturbo's wiring.

Only thing MRturbo doesn't have a rev counter output like Dictator so i don't know how to get the rev counter to work yet!!

MP9 picks up the rev counter signal on the trigger (pin 2) wire on the hall sender, as long as you leave that part of the harness intact the rev counter should work.

I am not hacking into the wires. I have a blown computer box I am going to use the female plug on the ecu and solder the mrturbo wires to it so I don't have to cut anything and if I want I can plug the mp9 in again.

Ok, I have one more concern.

I managed to get all the pin outs and what wires goes where.
But on the MP9 pin out there is only 2 earths and there is no earth for the water temp, there is no pin for the dizzy negative and no pin for coil negative on the mp9 but Mr Turbo has a wire that goes toe coil negative and that is the same wire that goes to the tp100 module signal and then there is a wire on the mr turbo that goes to dizzy negative.

Pin 17 on the MP9 is a common earth return for all the sensors etc.

If not getting a decent managment that runs TPS, MAP and Wide band lambda control at once I would stay with mp9 and just add a piggy back system.

Just my opinion

Hi, I still have a problem with the wiring.
If I plug the box in and switch the car on the power light and injector pulse light comes on but if I switch the car of everything stays on until I take out the key.
The fuel pump also does not come on.
This is what my wiring looks like.
MP9 side MrTurbo side
Pin 1 – Ground 12way plug pin 1 – Ground to pin 17 on MP9 plug
Pin 4 – Injector 12way plug pin 2 - Ground to pin 17 on MP9 plug
Pin 6 – injector 12way plug pin 5 - Ground to pin 17 on MP9 plug
Pin 7 – injector 12way plug pin 7 - +5v to Pin 14 on mp9 plug
Pin 8 – Dizzy pickup + 5v 12way plug pin 8 - +5v to Pin 8 on mp9 plug
Pin 13 – Dizzy pickup output to ecu 12way plug pin 10 – TPS signal to pin 41 on mp9 plug
Pin 14 – TPS +5v 12way plug pin 11 – Water temp signal to pin 42 on mp9 Plug
Pin 17 – Ground sensors 16way plug pin 1 – Ground to pin 1 on mp9 plug
Pin 21 – Permanent +12v 16way plug pin 2 – signal from dizzy to pin 13 on mp9 plug
Pin 23 – ignition on +12v and coil +12 16way plug pin 5 – signal coil to pin 24 on mp9 plug
Pin 24 – Coil trigger 16way plug pin 7 - 12v input to pin 21 on mp9 plug
Pin 25 – fuel pump relay switch 16way plug pin 8 - ignition +12v to pin 23 on mp9 plug
Pin 28 – Injector 16way plug pin 9 - Ground to pin 17 on mp9 plug
Pin 41 – TPS signal to ecu 16way plug pin 12 – injector drive B to pin 4 and 6 on mp9 plug
Pin 42 – Coolant sensor to ecu 16way plug pin 14 – injector drive A to pin 7 and 28 on mp9 plug
16way plug pin 15 – +12v output to pin 25 on mp9 plug
16way plug pin 16 – +12v output not used
I have no idea what I did wrong??
Torker i can email jou the exel speard sheet if you want to have a look it's a bit messy when i post it.

It works both ways, MP9 actually puts +9V on the dizzy, the Hall sender got a build-in +5V regulator. I've done mine on +5V on Dicktator, Sarel wires all their cars on +12V.

Hi. Thanks the car starts on the MrTurbo I only had the relay for the fuel pump wrong.
I give the Hall +5v.
One question why does my oil buzzer sound then the oil light keeps flickering but if I plug the mp9 back in it does not do that??
