Hey Guys,

So just curious, what kind of settings(BFT) could be run on a 6R GTI with just stage 1 software, no extra mods?

Also, what are the standard stage 1 settings?

BTF is pre set in the map you can not change it like on the MK5/6. You can run P2 on 95 but P3 you must use OB.

So then what changes when you set it to P2 or P3? is it not these settings?

On P2 & P3 the timing is advanced no boost.

and if the Boost value had to be changes, would it make a difference?
So these can't be modified like they can on the Golfs, as you said?

From what i understand from Shaun is that the map from std to stage one they add boost and timing. But on P2 & P3 setting they add timing only. Not sure how it will reacted if you change the boost on the actuator. It would have been nice to be able to change the BTF.
I see the first of the MY13 engines have arrived, just seen one at Edenvale with the CTHE motor in.

I heard that the CTHE motors weren't coming to SA, that the MY13 models still had the twin charged CAV motors...

The internal have been changed. With the oil comsumption problem with the CAVE motors they have upgrade the pistons and rings. There is also an engine management change.

Removal of rear parking sensors as standard (GTI)

MY11.5
Proposed updated to Climatronic unit

MY12
Actual update to Climatronic unit from blue-lit negative screen to white lit positive screen
Updated to revised pistons (forged) and piston rings
Touch screen Bluetooth

MY13
CTHE Motor to replace CAVE Motor
Option for 17" Detroit wheels (Aus)

CTHE motors still twin charge. The pistons have been change agian as they where still having a problem high oil comsumpsion. On the UK Polo site a guy had bought one of the last GTI's with the CAVE motors and had oil comsumption problems.
The one at Edenvale has the Detroits Xenons and roof.

Nope, they came with Denvers...

Detroits are the same as the Golf 6, where its diamond cut on the face, and the inside is black, like so:

Detroit:

Touch wood, i have had no issues so far with oil consumption...

Agreed, those Detroits and Bi-Xenons look amazeballs... I should have waited...

So, in essence, when you use the SPS to set it to stock settings, its not actually stock, as the boost will still be raised??

No.

Its exactly like my 6.

P1 P2 P3

All set up to take advantage of different timing and fuel.
So, on P1 I will run on 95.
P2 with WMI and some additives
P3 with Lots of additives (102) and WMI

P1 for everyday.
P2 when Im in the mood to scare something
P3 for racing.
