Help on G4 132kw

Where can one go on a weekend to check if turbo has gone
Dont know if it actually be turbo or rings coz of car is smoking

Have you tried taking off the boost pipes and just checking for oil in there?

No not my car ive told him to do that but no answer
He just want to get it checked out for some unknown reason

White but also he said its not boosting right so might be a boost leak somewhere aswell

Check the 90 degree pipe, that connects from the Turbo to the intercooler pipe, the clamp may be loose or there may be a tear,
The tear normally happens on the under side....

i rate rings as its white smoke

could be turbo, coolant leak etc as well

rings will smoke constantly under boost

yes thats why i asked what colour it was and its under boost

the 1.8T's have a thing with cracked housings or mani's so maybe it could be that aswell

I have a MK4 GTI 132kw and my car also smokes white smoke from time to time. Although mine only smokes while coasting (moving, in gear + foot off throttle) and the most weird part of it all is that it only does this every now and then - once, maybe twice a week.

I replaced my coolant pipes yesterday because they had torn and started leaking, when I drove away from the mechanic the car started smoking a lot more than usual (while coasting only) so i have a suspicion that the coolant might have a part to play, although I have had this issue for quite some time. My car still boosts fine, so I can't establish what this could be. I have been advised that it could be valve stem seals....??

What you explaining to me with foot off throttle sounds to me like valve stem seals

Hi bud,

Could be turbo seals, or if there is work on the car at times excess fuel discharges which also happens on coasting.
I had the same issure by some miracle it dissapeared...

not necessarily

rings may be sealing enough on idle but as soon as you give it horns, it leaks pasts the rings etc

trust me, i had same issue...
