Software MAP differences DSG vs Manual ?

Hi All
I have heard that there are differences between a map for a manual and a map for a dsg. I have read that there are additional parameters that need to be accounted for when flashing a dsg that don't come into effect on a manual map
Is this true ?

I'm also interested in this... Does the dsg ecu also need tweaking and can it handle a software upgrade without failing due to the
added torque?

Howzit bud
I'm not talking about DSG ecu flashing I am refering to performance maps for the engine ECU that incorporate additional parameters in the MAP for DSG integration that do not exist on MAPS that are used on manual gearbox cars

Thanks Zubs
That's what I wanted to hear
So the DSG box operates totally independently from the motor ECU using its own ECU programing
So what would cause the DSG box to start hesitating after each shift at WOT immediatly after loading a software MAP ?

Is the dsg ecu completely seperate or does it get some info from the engime ecu? I thought that the dsg ecu got torque output from the engine ecu.

LOL I'd rather not mention names yet as we are still in the process of logging and diag but wanted to do a bit of investigation on my own for now

Ok So the problem is history now
I had the car flashed back to stock and there's no DSG shifting issues at all I'm M D or sport mode with TC on or off
But I'm not saying its the map
There may be some other explanation for this strangeness

I too flashed a stg 1 software map and immediately noticed afterwards that my reverse is jerky especially climbing a slight incline. Pulling away in D or S from standstill is pretty violent no matter how nicely you try modulate the pedal. Wasn't like this with OEM map.
Shifts though while driving are still smooth with no hesitations.
I thought of maybe resetting dsg box and letting it recalibrate, seems like quite a process.
At the same time ...dont want it to be a case of fiddle, fiddle, f...k..ed

Howzit man the DSG reset is pretty easy if you have a VAGCOM cable , But the reset only lets the DSG recalibrate the clutch take up it has nothing to do with the input power from the motor so it may make your changes a bit smoother , also check when last your DSG was serviced
Cheers

Just for the record guys...
Who is all experiencing this? And what type if software are you guys using??
This seems to be an issue that doesnt happen only if your car has APR software... Lots of reads on overseas forums...

APR as in
www.goapr.com
There maps dont have as much glitches as others... Quite a few people have complained on the mk5, mk6 and vortex forums...
It can be remedied though. Your tuner must give it some attention. It is fixable.

Sorry bud. Misunderstood you.
APR are the only ones that dont have issues in their software.

Not denying it bud.
Most cases its a bad tune and if you don't inform your tuner that you are unhappy, how can he help you...
I'm with ETuners... Not APR.

Lol. With Shaheen? Do you stay about 350km from him? Did you think you had dv issues? Did you dyno stock at 194kw? Does your car now make 240kw? At the fly? Stalker alert...

Hi Guys
My issues have been resolved , Unfortunately im not willing to post up specific info in this thread ,PM me if you want specifics
I think Burners issue is completely different to mine , I will be investigating other software vendors and hopefully I do not have this issue again
