Removing double sided tape from window?

Hi guys

The stealership put my paper plates on with double sided tape How can I get it off? They ripped it off, so now just a thin piece is left and I'm struggling my arse off to get it off with my fingers.

I have anti smash & grab as well, so not sure which solvents/detergent/whatever will help without dulling the window/smash&grab.

Appreciate your help.

maybe a mild solution of methylated spirits mixed with water? (if it does mix- std 4 science experiment stuff hehe) - don't think pure meths would mess the tint up but I wouldn't take the chance!

Not looking for maybe's here. Battled last time with my A3 to get gymkhana shoe crap off and ended up scratching my windows. Will wait on one of the detailers. No offence.

warm it up with a hairdryer heat it up and rub it off? or use meguires bug and tar remover with a soft cloth?

Kill it with Doom!!!

No, seriously. Spray a little bit of Doom on the sticky mess and wipe clean. Really works well.

I had the same 'issue' with a car i detailed not too long ago.

Here's what i did:
1. Park the car in the sun for a little while (softens up the glue and becomes a little sticky)
2. Fold a MF cloth until you have a 'cube' big enough to cover the glue
3. Liberally spray a mild solution of APC onto the MF cloth and hold it against the glue for a little while
4. wipe clean and follow up with a clean MF

mf cloth and apc workd well. used it to get two way tape of my numberplates.
