Re: VW505.01 VS VW507.00 (Lets put a end to confusion)
I recently bought my wife a 6R Cross Polo 1.6 TDIand have decided to do my own maintenance.
I have always been a Castrol fan but cannot find a 507 spec oil without having to drive miles to get it.
Shell also seemed to be impossible to get, spares shops just look at you like a fool when you ask for 507 spec oil
In the end I found Motul makes 2 different 507 spec oils, I had to wait for the shipment to arrive, but today they delivered my 8100 X-Clean oil to me.
The Polo is due for its 90 000kms service in about 2400kms time, I will give feedback once the oil change has been done

Re: VW505.01 VS VW507.00 (Lets put a end to confusion)
Ok, 90 000kms service done.
Replaced Oil + Oil Filter (as prescribed in the owners manual) but also changed the fuel filter as we previously had the car in limp mode due to "low fuel warning" on a full tank
. I first ran the NF Diesel 3-in-1 Cleaner to remove any gunk and dirt in the fuel system, I timed the tank treated with cleaner in to coincide with the service so any dirt or foreign particles would be trapped by the old fuel filter then once that tank was finished I did the filter change so hopefully the clean fuel system will stay cleaner for longer
Like a chop I didn't prime the diesel filter properly, so I had to remove it and prime it slowly, actually took very long to fill the new filter with diesel.
The oil change went smoothly, just had to Google where the oil filter is
Immediately I have noticed that the engine is running quieter. So far no other feedback, but I'm happy

Re: VW505.01 VS VW507.00 (Lets put a end to confusion)
Been using vw fuchs 507.00 since i got my FR 1.9 tdi 96kw @ 118000km
I then started using Liqui Moly 4200 Longlife III also 507.00 and the motor idled much smoother around 60000 odd km service
Due to price of the LM i reverted to Motul 8100+ Longlife 507.00 nothing changed from the 2 oils idle was still smooth, km is now at 200400km and the car is still heathy, never blew a single turbo.
- bettween LM and Motul the car smokes much much less
I do my oil changes at 7500

Re: VW505.01 VS VW507.00 (Lets put a end to confusion)
Thanx for the feedback, I'm using the Motul 8100+ on our Cross Polo, I'm happy.
As a matter of interest, whats the price difference between Liqui-Moly and Motul?
