Polo Vivo no open door warning, no Alarm sound

Good day all

I'm new to this sort of thing hope someone can help. Recently my 2014 Polo Vivo stopped making the audible lock/unlock sound, just flash hazards. same if i trigger the alarm there is no sound just hazards flashing. I've also noticed that if any of the four doors are open there is no open door warning light on the dash's cluster, it does display if the book is open. not sure it its a sensor because the interior light does go on if a door is opened.

Figured I'd post an update if anyone has this issue and need help. I changed the battery for a new one and everything worked as per normal again

Aside, you have any other warnings wrt fubar'd battery? As it seems a odd symptom for dying battery....
