what the heck is a mag adaptor? sounds like something that a wheel bolts to.
Anyway - do you have a laptop on so you can see what the management does. When you crank the engine does it register RPM? should show around 220 or so during cranking.

Ok that is going to make fault finding just about impossible. You have something installed which you don't quite know what it does and you can't see what the management does. Good luck !!!!!! you are literally shooting in the dark.

Ok so the trigger works so the managemt sees that the negine is turning. The next thing you need to figure out is i the computer box is creating signal. The computer will make a small ground signal that needs to be amplified by a oil amplifier - TP100 most likely - then that fires the coil. So now somewhere in that stringyou have a problem.
To test if the computer is making a signal you need an LED with it's right resistor to make it come on when you touch it to ground and 12v + so the + leg you connect to battery and the - side to the management output. If you crank the car and it flashes is means the computer is OK. Then you need to see if coil amp is working. All you basically need to do is make sure it has power - then with the ignition on take a lead from the wire that should have been to the computer signal and touch it to ground. If no spark then the TP100 is blown.
To test the coil you can do exactly the same. From the coil - simply touch a lead to earth mometarily. If is sparks the coil is ok.
You are of course sure everything else is setup right in the management?

3 lights on the front of the Dicktator. One must be permanently on, two of them must be flashing while you're cranking it. Is this happening?

Shows you what I know about Dictator. I wonder if that is linked to the output drivers.

Yep. Middle light shows the ignition input being triggered, and light on the right shows the injector output being triggered. Or something like that.

That's how I found my crank-angle sensor problem on the VR. Had no flashing lights at all, so I knew it wasn't seeing the trigger.

Yes One of them(red) is permanently on and the other two(green and orange) are flashing while cranking it.

Ok, that means the management is sending and receiving what it should. Next up would be coil, or this mag adapter thing that I still can't quite figure out what it's for.

Okay it turned out to be the mag adpator that was the cause of no spark and also the timing being 180 out due to the markings on the cams and the dizzy lining up on the exhaust stroke, don't know why it's like that but it's sorted now.

Thanks Panic and blueblob

I got info about the mag adaptor looks like it used on toyota's only.

What the mag adaptor does
Dicktator requires on/off pulses (block waves) as an input from the distributor. The standard Toyota distributor gives out sinus wave forms.
a mag adapter on the standard Toyota distributor converts the sinus waves from the magnetic pick ups to block waves for the Dicktator management.

Can also use the mag adapter or amplifier as they call it on a ,magnetic pickup to amplify the signal on 60-2 ......

Ah. It wants a hall generator type input. Square wave signal instead of a magnetic signal. Though he would have kinda built that into the management.

This makes sense does the DICKTATOR expect a 5V square wave or can it be 9-15V but square? I think I will build a hall sensor and fly two magnets past the 3 wire hall for a Fuel Only with Standard DICKTATOR on a Type 1 VW.
