golf chico 1.4 carb model
Hi, My Golf Chico 1.4 has a hard start issue when using the key to start the engine. However, it starts quickly and smoothly when jump-started directly from the starter motor, please assist.

Re: golf chico 1.4 carb model
If it starts easily when bridging the terminals at the starter motor, then your issue is most probably the ignition switch at the steering wheel. They do fail with age.
Another possible cause would be an immobiliser that interrupts the wiring from the ignition switch to the starter, but I'm not familiar with the Chico in that respect.
