Hi all,
Need help finding out where this noise could be from on the 1.9TDI
https://youtube.com/shorts/xy8qPp7RYaE?feature=share
The noise is intermittent from 2500rpm upwards. sometimes it does not make the noise at all. Inside the car it sounds like its behind the dash but from outside the engine is too loud to hear it. noise happens while stationary (revving)and while driving so it cant be the CV's/ I looked under and the plastic cover is secure so no flapping noises. I made sure the fuel lines are secure as well as i heard those can be rattly. Cambelt and waterpump was done about 130 000km ago.
Just on a side note there is some sort of a relay tick/ sparky noise which happens when going around a bend as well somewhere close to the fuse boxes.
Just so frustrating as i cant find the fault. If you have a friend as well in Durban who has a ramp. PLease suggest.....

Re: Diagnose Rattle
Exhaust heat shields?
Dogbone mount causing too much flex or too stiff (if poly)?
Collapsed engine mount? If the alu bracket is touching onto the black round piece then it's damaged.
Maybe rev the engine and check how much it moves.

When a car tailgates me, i slow down - then floor it and give them a cloud of diesel smoke to choke on
