Hi folks howzit.
I'm needing new tyres, my current set is ~8 years/50000 km old. Currently they're a continental eco contact 3, 175/65r14.
A new pair of 4 is about R6k including alignment fitting etc etc.
But there's new models like the eco contact 5/6 & I've also been recommended the hankook kinergy eco 2. Don't know much about it it.
I've got a polo vivo 1.4, not much of a speedster.
On the one hand the eco contact 3 has been good to me all these years.
But also in 8 years tyre technology & newer models should be out?
Tyres aren't replaced often and when things go wrong, you want to be prepared, so I don't mind forking out a few k more for something better
Opinions would be appreciated.
Cheers

Re: Tyre choices
I've got a polo vivo 1.6 and it originally came with Contact Eco Contact CP. I was considering the same as you when it came to replacing the last set about 2 or 3 months ago.
I checked Tyre reviews and specifications on the different conti's and couldn't see a substantial enough difference to replace it with any other version of continental.
I didn't have any real issues with the continental eco contact cp with wet weather driving, good mileage on it and something I'm very familiar with from a driving experience point of view. So decided to just get the same tyres again
1st set - 111k km
2nd set - 82k km replaced due to age instead ofbeing worn
