Polo 6 Coilovers
Hi guys, recently purchased a set of ARC coilovers for my Polo 6. I'd like to know whether I should remove the bump stops and helper springs. I've currently got a 35mm lowering kit and will just be lowering the car slightly more with the coilovers.

Re: Polo 6 Coilovers
On my 9n TDI with fk coils, helpers removed and bump stops cut improved the ride alot, ends up decreasing stiffness quite abit.
Handling improved alot compared to shocks and springs - bends at high speeds weren't an issue anymore.
I didn't fit coils for stance purposes, so I removed helpers and adjusted to max high at the front (about a finger gap from the 17" wheel to arch). With helpers removed the fronts can get quite low.
Helpers removed only becomes a bother when jacking up and the car and lowering it down again - always have to make sure the springs seat correctly. And as long as you don't intend on being airborne more than roadborne U should be good. Lol

When a car tailgates me, i slow down - then floor it and give them a cloud of diesel smoke to choke on

Thanks, I won't be slamming the car either, maybe for an occasional car show but would just like it a bit lower than it currently is while maintaining a comfortable rideAshveer03 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 10:44 pm On my 9n TDI with fk coils, helpers removed and bump stops cut improved the ride alot, ends up decreasing stiffness quite abit.

Hey Bud, how is the ride on the Arc
do you have the yellow or blue.
i current have the HnR lows, and they sit at perfect height for but in thinking going coil overs.
I feel that I need to do shocks and Koni are dam expensive.

Re: Polo 6 Coilovers
Hey, I have the yellow arc. I removed the helpers when fitting and they actually don't drive bad. It's a bit of a stiff drive but I honestly expected it to be worse but I was rather impressed with the quality. My drive height for now is 1 finger in the front and 2 fingers in the rear
