Golf 7 2.0 TDI EGR de activated after question

Post by barkies »

Hi Guys

Bought a 2013 2.0TDI Golf 7 3 months ago. Did a software remap and egr deactivated with dpf delete. Got the car back very happy but noticed the heater not working. Because I had to car only for a short while never tested the heater before the upgrades. Ive seen that coolant hoses flows trough the EGR could this be the reason that the heater is not working. Not sure if the coolant passes freely trough the EGR or its has a solenoid valve and because its de activated can be the cause of the heater not working.

Thanks in advance

Not sure how the Mk7 golf egr is built, but if it's the same as the caddy CR TDI, on an egr delete I normally remove the entire egr with the cooler and join the coolant hoses together.

The coolant should be free flowing through it and delete shouldn't effect it.
The coolant hoses in Ur car were probably disconnected and the cooling system was not bled after.

U can try bleed the system. Cold engine, open water bottle, start the engine, turn the heater on and run the engine until the thermostat opens, while engine is running try to press/pump the egr &heater hoses to push out whatever air is in them, while doing that the hoses will start to get warm like the upper radiator hose.

It would help if u park the car on a slight incline with the front facing upwards.

When a car tailgates me, i slow down - then floor it and give them a cloud of diesel smoke to choke on :driving:
