Goldwagen ones are crap, they cost R130, and last an average of 6 months. OEM one from VW is almost R500. After you replace the sender, just disconnect your battery for at least 15mins, that should clear the errors, or so I've heard...

You dont have a stock 1.4 file if thats the case .

That's a check sum fault. Causes a whole lot of issues
My uncle (Shaun from SRD's dad) loaded the map for me. it is not coded to my key/immobiliser. I phoned my uncle and he said that all the chipped ECU's give that error? Or is he wrong? Would these checksum errors cause my car to be extremely heavy on petrol?
Sad to say , yes he is . possbily coz all the ecu's he has seen have corrupted checksum's

Checksum's cause a whole lot of issues -Its the ECUs way of checking if the SW is corrupt .

IMMOB defeat has nothing to do with checksum routines , well it shouldnt ....

I changed the water temp sender yesterday. I just missed GW, so had to go to Midas. Bought a water temp sender for R40 :lol:

If the thing lasts till payday I'm happy! The car is super light on fuel! :crazy: I drove about twice the distance I did with the farked temp sender, and the needle hasn't moved nearly as much! :eek:

I'll get the checksum issue resolved at a later stage. There are no apparent issues with the car thusfar.

Good to hear you came right...

@Zikker
Who checked/set the timing on the car ? and who and how did you set the vernier ? I still believe that your issues are timing related.

My buddy and I checked the timing.

So you didn't measure the cam lobes and then set the vernier ? You just installed the vernier and put the verniers timing mark level with the side of the head ? If so timing is out ...

You guys need to get the cam lobe on the nr 1 piston at it's highest point, then you need to get the other timinng marks correct Install the vernier and loosen the inside of the vernier and turn it so that the mark lines up with the side of the head (keeping nr1 cam lobe still at it's highest point). Then tighten the lott.. turn the motor by hand a few times and make sure everything lines up again.

Humor me and loosen the dissy while the car it idling and turn it a little left or right if the idling increases and sounds better you can be sure that there is a timing issue...

I tried the Midas one this weekend Its KEK..... Heat gauge reads very very high and the ECU signal was off As well.... Had to map the sensor from -20 to +120 and stick that values into my dictator..... The dude at Midas told me that the all black sensor is the substitute for the OEM Black/Dark blue ringed 4 pin...... Well obviously he is smoking something..... That Black and blue 4 pin seems to be scares but ill try VW in Nelspruit...... Otherwise, true as as Fuug, Ill spit it up into 2 reliable VDO sensors and recalibrate the ECU...... ek laaik sukkel niiiiiiiks....... (Running 2.1 Longblock)
