Urgent help with Polo GTi 9n3 - Solved!!!
Hi Guys
Yesterday after xmas lunch my polo lost power and sounded like a scooby wrx...sounds very rough.
Could this faulty coil pack?
How do I check the for faulty coils without a vagcom.
Problem sorted guys...
So it was the coilpack that was stuffed. Scanned the car and came back with the following error :
Misfire on cylinder 1, 3 and 4.
Ordered a set of revised 1.8T coilpack from Vagtechnik and car started first time.

Re: Urgent help with Polo GTi 9n3
pull one coil pack out at a time >>>> there should be a difference in engine tone and a visial shudder in the engine ....the coil that when pulled out makes no difference is the damaged one

Re: Urgent help with Polo GTi 9n3
ok so i checked each coil as per rob's suggestion and 2 make a difference in sound and engine movement and 2 make no difference.
but the problem now is the car idles for 20 seconds and then switchs off.
Should i get the coils from goldwagen or the agents?
Should i change spark plugs as well? What plugs should i get?

Pull out the MAF and try starting....on my G4 I had a similar problem....turned out that i blew a pipe clean off...
leant an expensive lesson replacing all the coils.....which was not the issue.

Re: Urgent help with Polo GTi 9n3
Try the MAF as well, but most prob coils, mine gave up last month. R900 for 2 from Goldwagen, or try the R8 coils with spacers.
Jody @ Revo had original coils that he was selling for R1500 a set, call to find out if he has stock

Re: Urgent help with Polo GTi 9n3 - Solved!!!
Hi guys,
I have a similar problem, took the car for a engine wash due to alot of oil build up from previous issue, car drove fine on the way home but now it has a rough idle and it's not boosting properly.
Any suggestions?
