throttle adaptation

Hi i hope someone can help me i have a strange problem with my mp9 i got myself a vcds cable and pluged it in and had a couple of faults cleared the faults and all stayed away,So i tried to do the throttle adaptation and when i go to select then engine then measuring blocks the group 098 and hit go then hit basic settings but then i get error.I scanned for fault codes and it gives me basic settings not performed and 530 throttle position sensor (g88) 08-00 controlled limit surpassed.
So what can the problem be i only get fault codes if i try to do adaptation
i did cleaned the throttle body with throttle cleaner

ok got a new throttle body and the car idles smoothly and there is no fault codes coming up again but still doesn't want to do the throttle body adaptation when i go into 098 the last block on the right says error and and nothing happens but still no error codes and yes timing is set to 6 deg with vcds
