Polo 1.2 TDI bluemotion any good?

Post by CarLoss »

Hi

My sister is looking at getting a polo 1.2 tdi 2012 for R120000 and has 130k kms from vw pre owned

Main purpose is to drive +- 15km to work and back everyday. No racing or heavy driving.

How does it compare to the 1.2 tsi in terms of efficiency and reliability and maintenance.

Are these 3 cyl 1.2s worth it or should we be looking at another car.

Triple :iagree:

@Carloss

Please stay away from them.
My colleague has one with 120 000km and currently its not mobile as it has issues with losing power while driving and it has cost my colleague a lot of money to fix and still it is not 100%

So he is looking to into trading it in *getting rid of it* soon as it is not economical to keep and yes VW stopped making them.

I went for i10 as a daily and I'm happy with it.

My wife decided to take it from me as she enjoys it. I'm now considering 2nd hand VW UP but they are damn expensive so far

Is this only when not used correctly? (as in short drives only creating issues?) What about longer distances? I have often see a fleet used by Wurth......

Don't drive at low speeds you won't see engine,exhaust and limp mode because with average speed and high speed it cleans itself or regenerate itself.

That is impressive kilometers clocked.
At that mileage, i would change oil every 15 000km but it's your decision.
