Swap from mk4 1.6 to 1.8T help

Post by jankalv »

Hello I did my engine swap from audi a3 who have 1.8T to my golf 4 1.6 so I had to strip audi to get all engine parts in my golf 4. Today I put 1.8T together and did my 1st start up and I had many fault codes but car starts for 2 sek and died, could this still by a imobilaizer fault even when I changed all ignition switch + speedometer but 1st time I had my golf speedometer and than it showed imobilaizer fault code but when I put audi speedometer fault code was gone, is there a changes even in it ?

But I think problem could be in this white box witch come under windshield on the driver's side because golf had more plugs than audi mby some miss match. Here the picture about box I speak. https://ibb.co/ydPQg3B

Ok a little update I manage to run my car fine, problem was 1 wire in incorrect order. So car runs fine and I got lost almost all fault codes but 2 still left about throttle body. Here is the pictures what it's says. https://ibb.co/Bg8FyBV Could it be broke for some reason, was running excellent before swap.

I think I got all wires connected properly but could there be any wire that go in this wire harness white box I listed in picture? if so this could be a issue but what I saw in all the connections from throttle body connector that all wires was going to ECU. To bad I can't find any information about what type wires go in this white box.

Ok a little update I manage to test my throttle body on a different 1.8T car with my engine type and it's working. No error in adapting section, shows ok status but my car is automatic error, no clue what this could be, will go over again wires on white box and mby some wire need to be changed but I doubt this section because all works properly now.

Ok I found out my problem, the throttle boy had a small gap in the wire adjustment location and I made that there is no gap and wonder what my issue was gone, such a small issue made me with no other reasons what could be wrong.+ sorted my engine twitched time to time and I got bad spark plug coil and now I fixed all the issues and engine runs so good. Dame this was a journey I will never forget.
