Citi 2.0 agg dead on top side

Post by Gts88 »

Hi There Chaps....
So I finised the AGG transplant in my chico and all sits well. Great low down power and torq but to me it feels like she has no GO above 4500 Rpm.

stock engine running on MP9. Allan did ECU with what he said, "road" map. Velo double down pipe with STD 50mm zorts. Timming 6Deg BTDC (isch) hunts a but due to slight unsteady idle... *** 268 Cam.

What do all you bofs thinks... Did I make the clasic CAM BooBoo or Am I just in dire need of a Dyno remap??Image

My 2E is also a bit dead up top but I have a standard cam. Running dictator and I have a good running map. Just cant figure out why it feels dead. Maybe its because all my previous 2L's had bigger cams.
Current:

2006 Citi Golf 2E, Dictator, 4-2-1

Ex:
2003 Audi A3 1.8t, Thanas Tuned, FMIC, coilies, DP and exhaust
2007 Citi golf. ADY with Spitronics 60-2, estas 282, 4-2-1, coilies

Im seriously contemplating going Dictator and taking it to Sarel @ 8VP to optimize, very very heavy on juice also.....
i need her to be a daily driver and cannot find a MP9 tuner ....

Overfueling is one of your possible reasons and the other is the timing map on mp9 that is fixed.

Was the cam dialed in, tdc and cam marks as well as distributor timing verified to be correct?

Papa, I tend to agree with the over fueling based on current consumption. Timing set to 6 BTDC at 950 rpm, but I can see with the timing light how the ecu fights it back to 0.... cam timing on original marks and verified to rock at TDC.... best I could do.... the “secrecy” of the mp9 is now stopping me to know more.... I don’t have VAGCOM only VAG maxi scan, so there is no fault codes but I have no further access to the ECU.... hence my notion to go Dictator and putting the keys in 8VP’s hands to tune......

Have you tried setting the distributor to zero position (tdc) seeing the ecu is pulling it to zero as you observed? That way ecu will pull timing to 6 btdc, which is std for those ecu’s

One more thing to confirm. Are you using the FI distributor without mechanical and vacuum advance?

Have you tried adjusting distributor (turning distributor while motor idles) for a happy idle without hunting on idle?

Yes I have.... oridinally had it set at 6 and tried 0 also when I move te dizzy at idle the light varies between 6 before and 6 after but mostly arround 0..... Yes its a FI dizzy, no vac adv. Remember the AGG block takes the dizzy with 41mm gear, only comes on FI blocks (2E, ADY and AGG) me thinks...

Instead of going stand alone management, take it to panic and let him set the timing on the dyno.
By the time you get vagcom to put the ecu into timing mode/ cost to go stand alone, might be quicker and easier for now

Im 600km away from Panic, send him a PM but he has not responded... I will make the trip but need to know it will be sorted for good.... thats why I just wane chat to the guys first before I hit the road......
That is also why I opted to change to a more tune friendly unit and taking it to specialist tuners....
