Cooling Fan

Post by KENYES »

Hi
Whilst driving the 2015 VW Polo Vivo a black refuge bag got pulled in between the cooling fan and its electric motor, This caused the fan to stop.
I managed to pull out the refuge bag piece by piece and got the fan to rotate. The problem now is that the fan is not working even when switching on the aircon, I disconnected the supply harness to the and measured for voltage with the ignition and aircon swithed on, but the is no voltage.
I checked the fuses all fine. I do not have a wiring diagram to do a propper check.
Please can somebody offer assistance.

vcds - check if there is an error code. it might have switched the fan off to save the controller or it didn't and now the controller is dead. With vcds you can alos do an output test to see if the fan runs. Fan itself might have died too. Kinda need to do some testing using diagnostics like vcds and an oscilloscope. the fans are often PWM controlled these days.
