so i have been reading up never to tune or dyno with slicks and semis as they give low readings and the dyno eats the tyre
i had my car tuned with semi slicks 225's, power i put down was good, used cold pressure at 1.7 bar
2.5 hours of tuning with breaks in between, tyres did get grippy R888R but saw no damage
so my question is:
is my car tuned right? would i have lost alot of power
went back the next day for a power run with cold semis no significant drop increase in power..

Re: Dyno figures semi slick vs street tyre
I really dont think tyres make much of a difference on a dyno, only noticable on the road in my opinion

Re: Dyno figures semi slick vs street tyre
I do think that if you have a higher profile slick/semi compared to a street tyre, then it will change the figure. It also plays a role with your gearbox ratio and the exit speed if you do quarter mile racing.
But slicks have a very softer compound, so a dyno will reduce it's tyre life.

Re: Dyno figures semi slick vs street tyre
only thing i noticed that the bumps (vent spews) on the tyre where rollers made contact have worn down to the actual tyre, (not the thread wear indicator) so far im happy just wanted other opinions.. i have seen what some slicks look like when damaged on dynos but i think since i was on semi's it helped, no damage or overheating at all
