Clutch Kit & Questions
Hey Guys,
My clutch is on its way out (just wear and tear) - its biting really late these days, and every so often, when you try to put it into gear, it just wont go in until you release the clutch and try again, so I figure its on its way out.
VW want something like R5000.00 for the kit excluding labour:
V03C141031G - Clutch Disk - R815
V03C 141 025K - Clutch - R705
V02T141153F - Lever - R944
V02A141777B - Ball Pin - R97
V036105269M - Fly Wheel - R2741.00
This is all excluding labour.
Couple of questions hoping you can advise on:
1. Anyone know a VW mechanic that is looking for some side work if I were to get the parts?
2. If I were to know someone to get the parts for cheap (original parts) - do you think VW could fit them for me?
Thanks All.

Re: Clutch Kit & Questions
Get the clutch kit from Goldwagen and get a reputable workshop to fit it for you.

Re: Clutch Kit & Questions
Vw fits parts that are supplied by the customer but at the customers risk, there is no warranty or anything.
Why dont u go with LUK or Sachs? It would be cheaper as a kit. Vw is selling u the same thing with a different price tag

When a car tailgates me, i slow down - then floor it and give them a cloud of diesel smoke to choke on

Ahh ok that would make sense - then there is little point in doing that then....Ashveer03 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 8:52 pm Vw fits parts that are supplied by the customer but at the customers risk, there is no warranty or anything.

I would definitely consider that - but I myself am not sure of many places - the place nearest me is notoriously bad .... and the last thing I want is me driving down and hear a great big wollop ...
But I agree with you all - how VW can think R5000.00+ is a reasonable asking price for a consumable item is ridiculous...
"keep your VW original" - there should be a disclaimer "By selling your organs to do so"

its not just VW... Almost all mainstream dealers are smoking drugs when it comes to parts Pricing... BMW quoted me 30k for a clutch kit and fly wheel last week.. Parts only, no labor..

Re: Clutch Kit & Questions
I wouldnt think so - I just asked VW for a clutch kit price and thats what they sent - so it appears thier kit includes a fly wheel.

Re: Clutch Kit & Questions
If its dual mass flywheel then there is a tool used to check the "play" on it.
Its normally recommended to be changed with the clutch hence its all sold in a kit (aftermarket)
Solid flywheels can be resurfaced, there is a limit though..
