Hi Guys
Can someone please tell me where does the power kick in with a 288 estas cam on a 2l 8v motor?
I’ve heard a lot of guys complaining about bottom end being dead. Will decend headwork better the bottom end in anyway?
Thanks

power comes on realtively strong form around 5000 rpm. Yes you will lose low down power and torque. Some of it can be recovered by running higher CR but it will always be less than on a lesser duration cam. Head flow work will not improve the bottm end no.

Cool. Why does most people say it’s important to have headwork when running a wilder cam? Where does head work help? I just need to understand it because I don’t want to waste money on headwork if it’s better for me just putting in the cam.panic-mechanic wrote: ↑Sun Aug 12, 2018 7:42 pm power comes on realtively strong form around 5000 rpm. Putting in only the cam will yield OK'ish performance. To get the full potential out of any performance cam, the cylinder head must be optimized as well. The two go hand in hand.
