PGti 6r Check Engine and Electric Power Control Problems

Post by Preggz »

Hi Guys
I'm driving a 2013 6r Polo Gti STOCK
about a week ago I notice while driving at a constant speed and if I had the need to increase speed the car will act up like it has a miss.
like a sort of a jerk until I leave the accelerator. if I keep my foot down it will give me
Flashing Check Engine/Engine Malfunction or Electric Power Control... soon as speed drops its gone.

last night while driving the Check Engine/Engine Malfunction and Electric Power Control... came on and staying on.
a friend of mines checked using the Vag COM.
and the Faults it came out was a few on the emissions the ones I could remember was
Oxygen Sensor
Exhaust Gas Recirculation

could this be a CAT problem and can downpipe solve it. I would like to know if anyone experience this...
and what was or could be the cause

I do have a Aftermarket warranty in place...Hollard
will they cover it through a reputable RMI workshop

Please advise reputable RMI workshop in JHB North..

Thank You in Advance

Sounds like timing jumped yes. Maybe try vagspec centre ?. One of Dazza's highly recommended places.

Thanks Panic

But if it was the Timing or a Hardware problem wouldn't the problem be continuous.
The problem started on Tuesday evening and stopped on Thursday midday and started Friday late After

Thanks Dveshn

Was it the MAP Sensor itself or was it the wiring ?
or both caused the Issues

Apologies for posting a completely unrelated topic, but need fellow 6R pros to help.

My 6R hatch lock stopped working. I couple open manually from the inside through shifting the lever inside. I purchased a new latch to install but now the lever is no longer working... The hatch is now ceased closed.

PLEASE HELP

My polo Gti check engine light came on at 32000km. Vw told me it was a stretched timing chain. I bitched and complained and they replaced it under good will clause. Problem was the light kept on coming on intermittently. They replaced various sensors and software, but problem still persisted. Turns out it was "a faulty fuel flow regulator" (this is what I was told). Took them 3 months to figure it out. I'm having DSG issues ATM. Want some good advice.....get rid of it as soon as possible .....it going to cost you a lot of money and tears in the end. Extremely unrealiable engine. Mine is a 2014 model and I bought it brand new. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself I was being an idiot for buying this dam car lol.

Hi Guys
I have not had time to update.

I had booked my car into Strydom Park Vw (JHB) for service.
they had noticed the misfire and did a compression test turned out everything was fine.
they checked the spark plugs and they were in a bad state. Which they changed and the misfire was gone.
been driving the car since Saturday and no issues so far.
