2002 Jetta 4 Fuel & General Power Issue

Post by denizen »

Hi Guys,

My work colleague drives a 2002 Jetta 4 1.6 who is experiencing an issue regarding his acceleration. He says that when the vehicle is at a stop, it holds back before accelerating. To me sounds like a coil related problem.

He also mentioned that the vehicle has a strong smell of fuel, even when he's standing outside the car. He says the car was serviced in December and all his fuel pipes were replaced.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

sounds like its overfueling that will dampen his pull off I experienced the same effect when I had my fiesta when my O2 sensor was stuffed and caused the car to over fuel. Coil pack related issues tend to be more jerky on the feeling from my experience

Have it scanned for fault codes and work from there.
Instead of assuming things, fault codes can help a hell of a lot in narrowing down an issue.
