Hi Everyone!
So my car's brakes seems to be failing, I had to put it through roadworthy as well and they told me the same. I fixed the pressure pin but the problem is still there. Brake pads are also still fine. Anyone have any idea what this could be and how I can fix it? It's quite scary when you have to brake and there's no brakes at all

What exactly happens when you apply brakes? Check for leaks

Does the booster work ie, pump the brakes a few times with the engine off. Now put your foot on the brake and start the engine - the pedal should fall away slightly. if not you have a dead booster.
If not then yes check for leaks at the slaves(each wheel) or if the pedal falls away before you start the engine then the master is stuffed.

Re: VW MK1 Golf 99 model - Brakes failing
My jetta was doing this. Seems to have been caused by fluid getting old/grimy and caused the master cylinder seals to fail.. GW would not sell a seal kit, but a new master was just over R500
