Newbie needs roofing help

Post by Moe_G10 »

Hi guys. I've just joined the forum and I'm hoping someone can help me with the sunroof troubles I've been having. Water is leaking down the front right hand side drain and I can't find the drain. I see the water trailing down from the fender and it looks like it's somewhere underneath the bonnet but no luck in finding it. I'm about to search the forum to see if anyone else has had the same problems but I thought I'd introduce myself at the same time.

I'm from the Gauteng and I drive a Polo MK4 that's not housing me from excessive rain

Use the search function

Or even: Google it. This was the first suggestion!

Same, just the face-lift one. 9N3 I think.

Okay so from what I've read here is that you find a speedometer cable or a curtain wire and shove it down the drain. I've noticed the right side water goes down slower than the left so obviously the drain is blocked. The water exits from the boot drainage plug instead of the front as the left hand side does. I managed to get some curtain wire and I shoved it down the drain but I didn't manage to get it down fully. It's as if something is blocking. Should I try compressed air? Or something else. I dunno any recommendations?

Ah 9n3. You can try compressed air but maybe first try thinner wire than curtain and see if you can't get past the obstruction.
