Re: 3.2 vr6 turbo random info
Went to Robot Racing Yesterday, and thought what the **** are boost pipes doing sticking out of a 3.2 VR6
Had a chat with The Snail and heard about this epic build
Damn this is one insane build !! and that sound
Love that you're doing all the work and tuning yourself, this is really going to be a monster
Are you still running stock Diff and prop shaft etc. ? I know S3's love to break those, and with the power you'll be making stock won't last

Hahahahahaha kak funny, stalker pics and all
Shot a lot guys!
Yeah still stock diff and prop etc. I havent even thought that far yet!
I pulled a new focus rs this morning, so im quite happy with the way its pulling so far! But the rs definitely pulled harder than the oettinger g7 that I had a run with.
Also, I hit just just under 200km/h on the quarter mile last night. Stock I was hitting around 160km/h. So thats a decent improvement so far.

Re: 3.2 vr6 turbo random info
Sorry for long delay, busy with a few things on the car...
I put the stock intake manifold back on, little bit more tuning. Finally got the rpm limiter up to 7000, so so much nicer!! Car made 276kw and 570nm without meth, still at 0.6 bar boost. Im sure its close to the 300kw mark with meth, going to try pull the box off this wkend and get the clutch done. Then start upping the boost and making power!!! So amped!!!

Dankie baie!
A few minor updates, just finished stripping the clutch off. Proved to be quite tricky doing it man alone! Flywheel is REKD lol Sending the clutch away to see what can be done to make it hold a bit / lot more, need to start making some power now!!!
Finally got my fog light grills on!

Trying to figure out how to make a new exhaust manifold to make use of the twin scroll now, i actually have no idea how im going to place it with the stock intake manifold back on again..

Re: 3.2 vr6 turbo random info
great stuff. Car looks sweat with the lip.
To who are you sending the clutch? Wouldnt a aftermarket clutch be better for more power application? And cost? Just asking
What device did you use for logging? And what software?

Re: 3.2 vr6 turbo random info
Okay so I finally got the clutch done and back on! Unfortunately I had to go button clutch without springs, i couldnt find a clutch plate with springs in time, so i ended up using my stock clutch plate and put 6 buttons on. I had the dual mass flywheel gutted and bolted together!! Lets see how long it holds for for! Looks pretty solid though!
Reineir at ElectigEel helped me out with the dual mass to single mass conversion, as well as getting the clutch done for me. I paid R500 to get dual mass bolted together (special price for me lol), and R1500 for pressure plate refurb, and 6 buttons put on stock clutch plate. I then had the whole kit balanced at Stealth engineering in killarney gardens. Also found out that he actually makes single mass flywheels!! Quoted around R3700!! If only i had known earlier

IMG_20170422_115227 by Nicholas Tolken, on Flickr
This is what im currently busy with, my new exhaust manifold..What a effing nightmare to make!!! The worst of it is finally done, just busy adding the wastegate ports to the collector now. Reineir at ElectigEel made the collector for me, check those sexy welds!! One day when im big haha
I ditched that crappy flowing cast manifold and decided to build a new one with the stock manifolds, so i can actually utilize the twin scroll on the turbo. I used 48mm steam pipe, 3mm wall thickness. I paid R40 a bend at universal steel alloys, but apparently at maxsteel they go for like 10 bucks a bend. This simple little contraption has taken me DAYS to make!!

Once im done with the manifold, then i need to build the new exhaust. Finally getting rid of the super anti free flow stock 63mm resonator! Running 76mm Dp into 85mm exhaust.
Hoping that she will be running by the weekend!! Im having massive boost withdrawals rofl

Niiiiick! This is awesome. Been way too long since the Audi was running! That manifold is a massive improvement over the previous setup.
