Help with Revo Software identification / possible removal
Hi guys.
I drive a SEAT Ibiza Cupra TDi.. Recently fixed a boost leak with the expectation of sorting out my high fuel consumption.. but I ended up getting worse fuel consumption after the boost leak was fixed. Sitting at an average of 8l/100km now with light driving for about half an hour (no traffic just general suburban driving).
I need some help here, as I am supposed to have Revo Stage 1 software..
1) I need to check if my software is actually active on the car. It really doesn't feel like it.
2) I want to revert the ECU back to stock so I can use a back-to-basics approach of sorting out my high fuel consumption.
I went to the Zwartkops Revo shop a few months ago, and was told they can take the software off for me for free and put it back on for R500 as long as I have the proof of purchase, didn't do anything about it back then as the proof was with previous owner. Phoned this morning again and was told they can do it for me but it costs R350 to set it up?
Is it not possible for me to do this for free? Seems silly to pay just to see if the software is active and then remove it if necessary.
Any help appreciated.

Remove the battery terminals for 30mins or so.
Should revert the ECU back to Revo Stock code.

Easy to check if the map is still "active" it should smoke significantly from around 3500rpm at full throttle. If it does not smoke much at higher RPM then it may be in stock mode. Car should actually be slightly better on fuel with the map vs stock, mine was anyway.
What area are you in I have an SPS device easy enough to check what mode it is in.

The car does have sw on it and it is active but the file is pap ...we ran some logs and checkd timing , injectors, maf and cleared some Dtc ,all was in spec but the boost was very low .

What was peak boost? boost was at 1.55 bar but actual boost were very low we think the car was fitted with a gt1749va and wasn tuned for itdazza wrote:What was peak boost? We aren't as active on the forums and respond as quick as we can via email.
With regards to your query, if you aren't the original owner of said car...we sadly have to charge for time spent on the car especially so when it goes to our workshop. R350 would be an hours labour rate.
Revo UK policy states that the original owner of the car is the owner of the software on the vehicle. If that vehicle is flashed to stock at any point and then sold to another customer, we have to charge the new owner for a new tune should he want the Revo software back on. We do however try our best to assist customers in this scenario and this is typically when we charge the R500 to reload.
If you are an existing Revo customer, flashing to stock and then back to Revo costs you the customer nothing. That is a value added service that we offer to our customers.
