The kit is designed for a citi and to work with stock calipers.
Go see them on Tuesday and I am sure they can get you sorted out.

Check that the mounting points on the hub carriers are straight and not bent in or out.

Re: 280mm bolt on Brake upgrade kits for MK1 is here!!!
All sorted out. He was here this morning with everything . His calipers are aftermarket pirate once and the brackets crossing the discs is thicker . So with the std 237mm it doesn't matter but with the 280mm discs the larger diameter is just to much. We took the pencil grinder to it and cleared just enough the give the discs some space. So now we know that there are some clearance issues with the aftermarket calipers .Kyli3boi wrote:Hi,
I bought this kit from you guys and I have a big problem with both carriers hitting into the disk, the left side I have grinded more than half the thickness of the carrier away and it still hits into the disk, the right side also hits into the carrier but not as bad. Have you had any other complaints about this with your most recent spacer brackets? I'm just wondering if maybe the brackets were not machined correctly? Please let me know how I can solve this issue as I'm not comfortable with grinding more away on the carrier, this is on a golf mk1 with the standard calipers, your 280mm disks and your spacer brackets

Are there any kits available to change the back from drums to disks?

We use the mk3 rear brake setups. Straight bolt on. But rather spend the money on the front brakes, the rear shoes are more than sufficient even on track.

Re: 280mm bolt on Brake upgrade kits for MK1 is here!!!
I was thinking on doing both the front and back or just the back to disks. I don't like the look of the drums makes the car look silly. I 'll start with the front I think. Also the hand brake doesnt hold the car very well.
How much is the mk3 setup and can I get it from you guys?
I 'll have to put the brakes on hold for a while. As my intake manifold sprung a leak and the thermoswitch is now broken as well. You guys stock the intake? My car has a carb.
