Clutch Bracket at Firewall
I've serviced my clutch and pressure plate about 4 years ago on my 2003 cit golf, and recently the bracket that's attached to the firewall started pulling away from the firewall. I've been trying to weld it back but its in such a award place so it makes it difficult to weld it properly back, any suggestions???

Goldwagen sells a plate that fits onto the firewall.

Re: Clutch Bracket at Firewall
Unfortunately my car doesn't work with a plate I've seen the plate at goldwaggen, my car has a T structured bracket there and theres no plate around it,I've seen the velocitys and newer golfs are the same...

Re: Clutch Bracket at Firewall
You have this then

You can swap over to the old style system, remove the bracket (2 no. 10 nuts) & remove the saddlebag locking pin. Then you need to remove the arm from the pedal... I just removed the clutch pedal assembly & took it out.
Get the "long" clutch cable, hook onto pedal, fit bracket & reassemble & bobs your aunties uncle...
Just note the pedal feel will be a little harder with the long cable.
