Re: Adaptors please help PCD change
Get the hubs drilled.
Using 5x114 rims you have to be very careful selecting rims with the right offset. Remember that word. Offset is the distance from the center of the rim to the lip measured across the width of the rim not the spokes.
What I'm getting at is adapters will significantly reduce the offset of your new rims and negatively affect the handling, tyre to fender clearance, wheel bearing lifespan and a whole lot of other suspension and steering problems.
Have the hubs and discs drilled it will cost less than the adapters and is a safer solution than adapters

If it was me I wouldn't even try fitting BMW rims to my golf. Leave that to the ricers

Yes offset needs to be checked but that's a minor issue imo, easily checked.
Most adapters will be around 20mm thck, so look at the offset of the wheel you want and add 20mm of poke to your calcs.
And 5x114.3 is Japanese spec PCD, not BMW, BMW is 5x120.

Was the alfa front or rear wheel drive?
This is important because it determines the offset you are working with.

The offset should be stamped on the back of the spokes along with PCD and width etc.missioner wrote:Was the alfa front or rear wheel drive?

Those look like Compomotives, the alfa part is just a centre cap.

Re: Adaptors please help PCD change
Drill hubs to 5x100 PCD, Fit 5x100 to 5X114.3 PCD Adapters made by Deriam Engineering.
Plates will be 30 mm thick if you decide to go with a double adapter and may leave the off-set way too aggressive.
(5x100 -> 5x114.3 will be 20 mm) (Subtract 20 mm from the current off-set on your wheels to get the new off-set)
Contact people:
Sharon - 0824454769 (Deriam Engineering for Adapters)
Zubair - 0832656668 (Wheels and More to re-drill hubs to 5x100 PCD)
Spacers will cost around R1300 - R1500 depending on width etc...
On car PCD drilling will cost you around R700.
