Wynn's injector cleaner
I have used wynn's injector cleaner once before, iirc it was the blue bottle. I just bought a new wynn's which is turbo and injector cleaner. Anyone tried this particular bottle?
There is mixed feelings about injector cleaning additives. I use it every 20 000km and I do notice less smoke and a smoother idle, it also cleans your fuel system of any bacteria etc.

Re: Wynn's injector cleaner
I've used the (I think Purple) bottle before in the past, Never noticed much of a difference to continue using it, But some guys here do use it at service time.

Going to give this one a go. What I really need to do next is remove the egr and clean it, get it fresh

I put that shield one in my old ML270 and saw a difference, but it did have 250k km on it.

Re: Wynn's injector cleaner
I can agree with the injector cleaning part of the product but how the hell would it clean your turbo? Maybe by reducing soot on the exhaust side but come on, by how much and if it does do that then it clearly is changing the properties of the diesel. Remember that the diesel also helps to lube the injectors from the inside.
I would maybe use it say every 20K.

Liqui moly speed tec diesel, diesel purge and super diesel additive works wonders for me, Abit pricy but damn it's tops

Re: Wynn's injector cleaner
From my past experience, None of these actually work. The only 2 brands that I did find to work very well was the Liqui Moly Diesel Purge and the BG Injector Service. Acceleration increased drastically, less Smoke, Smoother idle, easier start up and much more economical.

Re: Wynn's injector cleaner
I used to use the blue Wynn's injector cleaner (for both petrol and diesel).
According to a spares department guy, Wynn's have discontinued it for diesel 'due to the low sulphur content of the newer diesel fuels'.
I would try to use the newer Wynn's diesel injector cleaner.

Re: Wynn's injector cleaner
I read recently that adding 2 stroke oil to the diesel when filling up has a number of benefits.
"The results of this research: any diesel additive of any manufacturer presently on the market is not worth the money!
BUT: 2-stroke oil, which we use in our motor saws, lawn mower or in 2-stroke motor engines has shown to have an extreme positive impact on diesel engines, if such 2-stroke oil is added to the diesel in a homoeophatic dosis of 1:200. In practical terms: 0,300 litre of 2-stroke oil into the 70l diesel tank. The 2-stroke oil will be absorbed by the diesel (emulsion) and grease every moving part of the high pressure pump and the injectors.
Besides this, the 2-stroke oil will keep the diesel engine clean, as it burnes cleaner as the diesel itself.
In other words, the 2-stroke oil has a much lower ash-content as diesel, when burned. This proven fact delays the DPF (diesel particulate (soot) filter) to clogg, and the "burn free" process of the DPF will be much less.
So i decided to give it a try yesterday. Bought a 200ml bottle at Sasol yesterday and addded it to the tank. I must say the car is much quiter and pulls smoothly. Should definitly give this a try! YOU WILL feel the difference

I'm not a fan of adding 2 Stroke oil to diesel. Read this interesting viewpoint: Adding 2 Stroke Oil to Diesel
We've had a lot of good reports from guys using the NF 3-in-1 Diesel Cleaner. Better throttle response, better economy. You can also run the NF Fuel Saver to add lubricity, reduce smoke and improve consumption.

Wynn's injector cleaner
Am I the only person wonderig just exactly how a petrol/diesel additive is supposed to reach your turbo to clean it??
It clearly states on the bottle "Injector and Turbo cleaner"... Seems to me like bullcrap baffles brains!
Injector cleaner I can understand completely and I tend to agree with the theory... But come now...turbo cleaner in your fuel... There is only 1 scenario where I can think of where it might work!

Re: Wynn's injector cleaner
NF Diesel Boost raises the Cetane of our diesel to Euro 5 spec (SA diesel is currently Euro 2 spec), which means better cold starts, better acceleration and a smoother running engine. It also contains the NF Fuel Saver and all the benefits that go with it.TDifly wrote:NF. wrote:I'm not a fan of adding 2 Stroke oil to diesel. We still recommend running the NF 3-in-1 Cleaner around every 10 tanks to keep your fuel system in top shape.

Re: Wynn's injector cleaner
Bought some 3-in-1 injector and petrol cleaner, will give it a try this weekend.
I've run about 3 bottles of NF Sport through the system at a quarter strength, so 1 bottle to 4 tanks. Solved my pinging issue on the spot. NF is awesomeness.
