ITG vs EVOMS TFSI

Post by Preasen »

Hi Guys

I've read up countless topics on tfsi inatkes and it boils down to this 2brands ..

Well i managed to source a ITG after turning grey and giving up a few times ..
I fitted it yesterday wic was fairly simple ..

Just a few questions ..

1. How much louder is the evoms to the itg ( Assume it is as its a open filter )
2. Does the ITG need to adapt to the car and will it get louder after a few hundred km's
3. I know software will need to be done now to accompany the mod performance wise but will it also make it louder

The intake sounds awesome and car dumps/turbo spoils insanely but i would prefer it to be alittle louder ..

Thanks in advance ..

What car? Software will help more boost bigger dump. How does the ITG adapt to the car? You mean the car adapt to the ITG..

Golf 5 gti .. yea car adapts to the itg ..

Does the ecu recognise more air intake and does it automatically adapts to that ?

I had a RunX rsi previous and thats what happened with that ecu ..

ITG or Stealth Atom FTW. I hated the sound of an open intake, sounds like a vacuum cleaner sucking. EVOMS is loooooud.

You talking abt the foam surround that comes with the intake ? i fitted that as well ..

Bit of a crap heatshield it separates the filter from the area the cold air enters the engine bay .. need to build up a better heatshield

Are you at the highveld or coast?
Highest I flowed with EVOMS on my K04 TFSI was 289 g/s.
Still going to try a few other intakes out.

Sup Dude

ITG Will adapt to the car it may seem like you cannot even hear it when you first fit it on. once you drive 200 some odd km's you will start to hear the build up and the tooosh! lol.

Point taken definitelythe performance ..

Wouldn't wana spend that amount on an intake just for the noise that would be stupid of me.. guess i should stop stressing abt the loudness of the intake and be happy with the performance level after software is done

Cant be a drastic defference in performance between the 2 intakes .. is der ???

I havent tried back to back with ITG/EVOMS, But I have seen Stealth Atom 2 back to back with Evoms and Stealth Atom wins by almost 3kw an 8nm over what an evoms makes

I had a k&n typhoon, evoms and Itg on my mk5- the Itg was the best with its huge foam filter directly at the air slat in the grille. I got rid of that stinky, filthy itg foam heatshield which blocked off airflow to the filter and made a custom air scoop.
If you plan on running revo software then get an itg, evoms and the atom works well for everything else like unitronic, frc, stealth.

Im thinking of FRnR software ... do u have a diy build for the air scoop .. also wana build 1 and remove the original cause its blocking off the cold air

I made a home made heatshield for the itg which I feel directs more air towards the filter. I made it from an old fiberglass gemini gate motor cover I had lying around in my garage.

How it started out.....

Use your nose as an intake....lol

As Solo786 says... ATOM FTW. I have done some research on it, and the reviews are AWESOME!

the Evoms on K03 is not as loud when compared to a K04 with Evoms. On my Audi, the Evoms never reached the high Pitch it does on the Cupra.

I am currently looking for the Stealth ATOM.
