OEM ABF 16v Pistons in 2e block

Post by GolfGTI »

Good day all.

I did a search but would like confirmation from you clever guys.

Will OEM ABF 16v pistons work in a 2e long block with 2e conrods?

Can you get rings for the pistons and would someone know what they cost or where to get?

Thanks

The pistons will fit. Question is what do you whant to do?

2e block + ABF pistons = basicly an ABF sub assembly
So add a 16V head and you have basicly an ABF motor.
Add a 8v head and... Well you have a problem.

I'll be using a 16v head with a ABF intake and a 2e block.

Thanks. Which cranks are the nicer or better ones and how do you tell the difference between them?

Yes, 2e pistons will work in ABF block. Same std bore and crank stroke aswell as rod lengths are the same.
