Mk4 TDI to 96kw

Post by warrenh32 »

Hi Guys

I know that this topic has been covered in extensive detail...I've spent hours going through the different threads, but I would like to know what I can do to a Golf4TDI to get it to 96kw...

If I get a bigger turbo, bigger intercooler and get a Revo chip will this take me to more than 110kw?

Also what sort of effect does a bigger exhaust have on turbo vehicles? Will it improve the performance if I had to say - get a 57mm zorst?

Your help would be appreciated as I'm struggling to decide whether I want the TDI or G4 GTI!!!!!!

Thankz

chip on the G4 will get it to around the 96kw mark. My dad had this and it was very nice.

I would rather have the gti myself.

Exhausts dont really make a diff on diesels. It really isnt a viable perfromance mod.

Thanks for the reply, but I would like it to be more than 96kw

If I wanted to do further...? What about a turbo upgrade? Are there -for the TDi?

Thanks for the reply Hawg...I've decided to go with a Polo 1.9 TDi, I drove one on Sunday and I had to have it! Applied for finance this morning and I'll take delivery this week sometime :D

Got a lot of questions coming up about diesels etc....I'm a VTEC driver so it's a big change :D

The 'screamer' loses it's novelty after a while and I like the thought that the TDi fooks off with a Revo and without any hassle and without seeming like it's trying hard. I was so amazed - going along at 60 in 6th gear...put your foot down and it just goes! And the consumption the whole trip was at 6.7, and I was drilling it! The Tec would be at least double that!

i also had the choise between a 2001 Vtec with only 49 000kms on the clock or the Polo....Drove the vtec to warmbaths and the novelty was gone.

yeh. Just read the guidelines on TDI turbo failures. They do have turbo failures if u dont look after them properly.
