ULP 93 in Jetta 6

Post by BerndL »

I just bought a Jetta 6 (2013 model) 1.4 TSI Comfortline and followed the instructions on the fuel info panel to use ULP 93. I am starting to get worried I have done something horribly wrong. Would this cause engine damage?

Unlikely to cause major damage. ECU will adjust for the lower octane but power will drop.

you could add some NF octane booster if you are still worried about it.

93 ULP is the minimum you should use. Next time that Mk6 Jetta needs fuel, use 95.

I went through Lydenburg the other day, and for the love of all things holy there is not a single pump with 95, was forced to chuck 93 in, only did enough to make it home, filled up with 95 here.

I had 93 in the GTi a short while back, all it did was pull abit of timing(nothing critical) and cost me a few whp. They donot detonate, ping or self destruct on 93 unless you had 93 on a custom 100+ octane race file.
