So the 6R GTI is WAY ahead of the poor old 1.8T ...
That is bad. Are you punching it whenever your drive?
I was getting on average 400km off my Corsa lite with city driving. Consumption is what prompted the change.
I only drive 14km a day to work and back, in traffic. I can't even punch 'it'

Im actually not sure what I get off a tank.
When I got the car (4000kms) i was averaging 9l/100km overall (I do alot of short distance driving). I reset at 7000kms, and im doing 8l/100km. Seems the engine loosened nicely. Im also using little to no oil, where as the first 1000kms I definately used more.
I had an interesting test the other day. The mrs took her 1.4T A1 to her work, on saturday with no traffic. She managed 5.5l/100km. Later the afternoon, I took her through with my polo, I managed 6.5l/100km. seems the 1.4TSi is just a little heavier than the 1.4T, but still very good.
It really depends how often you engage the SC under normal driving circumstances.

yea i get about 500km per tank with still about 100 - 60km range, dont like to run it low.. with avg fuel consumption about 7.5l/100km... lowest iv gotten was 5.1l/100km an still dont know how i did that! haha...
but yea max iv gotten out a tank was about 750 with 3km range left! an no that wasn't done on purpose
2011 Stock Standard 6R Polo GTi Always looking for a race . . .
I get about 500km if i use Sasol and about 580km to 600km if i use Engen...tested this thoroughly! I pretty much do town driving. Although Sasol is still the better fuel for me and only use that now. Although Engen gave me more mileage, my car never felt as responsive as when i used Sasol...and it definitely wasnt a placebo effect
thats all i use now... i get better economy off it, as well as better performance (Might be placebo )

I could do 300km/h if I wanted but I don't trust my brakes stopping from that speed so as soon as i hit exactly 241km/h on my garmin i will tap off, generally it takes me me 6.9 sec to get there so I will just cruise the last 5 sec's to allow the car to cool down..
600km and up, with town driving and freeway, i am yet to see it go under 600km on a tank and i've got lead in my right foot

Just a quick update. Had a trip to Richards Bay over the weekend for a funeral. Car was packed to the brim and running with speedo speed of 140km/h and 3000rpm. Got 7.6L/100km as average and the trip back which was N2/N3 all the way gave me 7.1L/100km... that was 734km for the day and still got me to work this morning!!
The trip down was via a lot of back roads and it was crap with hard acceleration to overtake trucks and a lot of k@k speed humps and driving through a national park too...
In summary... I am VERY impressed!!! Car ran perfectly without missing a beat! Should get around 770km in total on the tank!
She needs a bath and a service now!
I realised i will never get under 8 overall combined consumption, I spend more time idling my car than driving to work (not joking).
over weekend averaged 7.2, that had longer trips.

Best i've had on the way home, on the M2, so 100km speed limit, total distance of 15km, was 4.4l/100km... didnt last long though...
